Life can often become mundane, especially if you are working full time.  Luckily, I am on maternity leave at the moment so my life is very colourful however it is easy to feel a little trapped by routine at times.  I have found that when you feel like this it is good to do something different and create change, a spontaneous walk, out for tea, a mid week movie – anything that is different to your normal routine.

Last weekend David came home from work a little fed up.  We spontaneously booked a night away in the lake district and off we went.  We used to do things like that a lot and it was nice to know that it is still very possible with baby in tow.  We had a lovely weekend walking around Lake Windermere and several less popular spots, swimming in the hotel pool, eating in a beautiful restaurant and generally being somewhere different.  Savanna enjoyed watching the log fire crackling in the hotel lounge and kindly gave us a good night sleep!

Doing something different or new can recharge your batteries and help you to feel alive.  Give it a try!
