7 Magnificent Steps to a Healthier Mind & Body

How to Become a Better Version of Yourself

Do you want to be a better, healthier version of yourself? Want to make sure you’re treating your body right? Then you need to put a little work in to ensure you’re as healthy as you can be. Start off with these 7 essential steps thoroughly endorsed by the NHS website and their Live Well advice centre. We’ve included the NHS links for reference!

Step 1: Overhaul Your Diet

If your diet isn’t as good as it can be right now, then do something about it. Take a look and find ways you can improve. Try to fill your diet with as many natural foods as you can, such as nuts, fruits, and veg. You’ll feel and look so much better! The food we eat directly affects the way we feel.

Step 2: Do Exercise

If you don’t exercise very much at the moment, then begin. Exercise is one of the best things for your body and mind. By starting off with just 3 sessions a week, you’ll feel amazing. You should try to get more active in other ways too, such as taking the stairs.

Step 3: De-stress

Chronic stress is actually really bad for us, but people don’t realise it. There are so many ways you can de-stress, but it completely depends on your preferences. You might like to take a bath, read a book, or meditate. Calming, deep breaths never hurt anybody!

Step 4: Kick Back Habits into Touch!

Do you have bad habits making you unhealthy? If you drink too much or smoke at all, you should cut it out. There are so many groups you can join if you need support.

Step 5: Get to Bed!

Never underestimate the power of a good nights sleep. You can encourage better ‘sleep hygiene’ by doing some very simple things such as going to bed at the same time each night, waking at the same time each day, staying off your ‘blue light devices’ (smart phones!) and reading a book to relax before you eventually try to fall asleep.

Step 6: Love Yourself & Think Positively

As well as loving yourself, you need to think positively. Thinking positively will have a great impact on your wellbeing and outlook. Some people also claim that by thinking positively, you can improve your life as if by magic. There’s no harm in thinking positively even if your life doesn’t change! Try it and you might be surprised.

Step 7: Get Outside

Most of us spend too long cooped up indoors these days. Going outside allows us to get some fresh air and vitamin D from the sun, which instantly makes us healthier and happier. Go for a walk outside and you’ll be doing even more good for your health!

The sooner you begin adopting these 7 ‘mantras’ into your life, the better!
